IMPACT
Changing the Narrative, Shaping the Future
We believe programs must be designed to inform, empower, and build bridges between citizens and government, business and society, data and decision-making.
Our impact is both measurable and meaningful; grounded in the belief that inclusive development starts with informed societies. Some of our impact highlights include:
Strategic Insights and Dialogue
BusinessDay Foundation Policy Intervention Series:
Navigating Nigeria’s 2024 Bond Strategy | Hosted by the BusinessDay Foundation
Advancing transparency, fostering economic dialogue
Driving Fiscal Transparency through Policy Dialogue
In 2023, the BusinessDay Foundation hosted a high-level Policy Intervention Series focused on Nigeria’s Bond Issuance Programme for 2024. By convening government officials, economists, and market leaders, the Foundation helped bridge critical gaps between policy design and public understanding—reinforcing our role in advancing evidence-based dialogue and fiscal transparency.

Africa Trade and Investment Summit (ATIS)
Convened by the BusinessDay Foundation | 2024
The Africa Trade and Investment Summit (ATIS) is a convening platform established by the BusinessDay Foundationto drive cross-sector dialogue and media coverage around the future of trade, enterprise, and economic collaboration on the continent.
ATIS 2024 brought together leading voices from across Africa’s public and private sectors to discuss regional economic integration, investment flows, and the untapped opportunities in intra-African trade. It was designed to not only spotlight trade and investment prospects but also amplify the role of media in shaping bold, constructive narratives around African development.
The summit was driven by three core objectives:
- Positioning media as a tool for economic developmentthrough responsible reporting on policy and trade opportunities
- Fostering investor and policymaker engagementin ways that prioritize inclusion, sustainability, and innovation
- Promoting African economic agencyby elevating African voices, solutions, and trade ecosystems on the global stage
Through ATIS 2024, the BusinessDay Foundation deepened its work at the intersection of journalism, civic engagement, and economic inclusion — serving as a bridge between evidence, enterprise, and public discourse.
“At a time when narratives about Africa’s future are increasingly shaped outside the continent, platforms like ATIS are essential for centering African voices, data, and vision.”
The event further reinforced our Foundation’s commitment to:
- Driving pan-African economic conversations from within the continent
- Providing platforms for policy literacy and informed public engagement
- Supportinginclusive economic growth through media-enabled insight and influence

However, our role extended beyond learning — we also contributed to the collective growth of the media ecosystem by offering insights drawn from our unique experience at the intersection of business journalism, civic engagement, and media innovation.
Our Key Contributions and Outcomes:

- Piloted tools and strategiesthat make complex economic and policy issues more understandable to broader audiences
- Contributed to peer learningby sharing frameworks on how journalism can drive inclusive development

This partnership directly aligns with our mission to elevate media capacity and public understanding of development issues, while reinforcing the Foundation’s role as a forward-thinking actor in Nigeria’s media landscape.
“For us, NAMIP was more than a programme — it was a proving ground for our belief that journalism must evolve to remain inclusive, relevant, and impactful.”
