HRM OBA DOKUN THOMPSON GUREJE IV

Oba Dokun Thompson is a unique monarch and traditional ruler of Eti-Oni in Osun State, Nigeria, which is the oldest cocoa plantation in the country, producing cocoa since 1896. He is a visionary with an engineering background

who combines his Christian faith as well as his knowledge of social and political issues to chart a new course for the global cocoa industry through the International Cocoa Diplomacy with the main objective to bridge the gaps between cocoa producing regions and chocolate consuming nations for shared value and transformational purposes that will return farmers’ self-pride and dignity to encourage next generation cocoa farmers to achieving sustainability.

In addition to his role as a traditional ruler since December 2008, Oba Dokun Thompson is first, a lover of Golf and Chairman – Kids Golf International. Secondly, he is Chairman: Eti-Oni Development Group, Founder: annual Royal Cocoa Festival in Eti-Oni since 2014, annual Eko Chocolate Show in 2019, Internatonal Cocoa Diplomacy in 2020, Co-Founder Royal Cocoa International Film Festivals in 2021, a series of film festivals to promote films of purpose and impact to be held annually in Nigeria, Caribbean Region, UK & USA. He sits on the Advisory Board of African Cocoa and Chocolate Expo, Ghana and is the Convener of Nigerian Chocolate Group, the International Cocoa and Chocolate Forum, Nigeria and the UK and initiated the Nigerian Cocoa Awards in 2017 held every 5 years and the International Cocoa Festival in the Caribbean Region in 2021 which debuted in October 2023.

HRM is also an active participant in several international conferences, seminars and delivers addresses on youth engagement and entrepreneurship advancement, peace, sustainable development and cultural education in relation to contemporary global trends for prosperity creation in Africa.

Morolayo Igeleke

Morolayo Igeleke is the Country Marketing Manager United Parcels Services. (A fortune 500 company and one of the world’s foremost shipping couriers)

He holds a first degree on Geoinfomatics Systems at the University of Lagos

He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Strategy at the Edinburgh Business School in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Morolayo had worked mainly in the telecoms industry with companies such as MTN Nigeria, Visafone Nigeria and Corridor Communications (A rural development telco outfit).

Morolayo Igeleke is a conscientious self-motivated Business Strategist/Analyst, and Administrator with over 20 years’ quality experience in Business Planning & Strategy, Pricing Strategy, Products Development & Management, Business Development & Performance Evaluation.

A strategic thinker, with the ability to form and give balanced views on the business as a whole, demonstrate clarity of strategic thought and decision making, coupled with high level co-ordination skills with a lot of enthusiasm.

Morolayo had certifications in Project Management, Leadership and Emotional Intelligence with the Integrated Institute of Professional management (IIPM) in Nigeria.

Morolayo is married to Abimbola Igeleke, with two children.

Mr. Ibrahim Isiaka

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, master’s degree in nutrition, a registered
member of the prestigious Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN).

He is a certified Nutrition in Emergencies
professional from the University of Westminster – United Kingdom. Over the past seven years, he has been
actively involved in Humanitarian/Emergency Nutrition and Food Security program planning and
implementation the United Nations Food Systems Transformation agenda in Nigeria.

His last portfolio as the Food Systems Specialist with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations includes but not limited to Identification of resource partners in development, humanitarian, and resilience landscape, grow and expand the FAO Nigeria portfolio of Programmes especially around

Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture and sustainable food systems. In addition, he facilitated programme and
policy development discussions both at the national and sub-national levels.

 His role in the promotion of access to healthy diets and optimal Nutrition for the most vulnerable population dates back from 2015. He led implementation of high impact Nutrition Specific and Nutrition Sensitive interventions notably, Action Against Hunger ECHO funded projects, Fhi360 IHAAN, the WFP Food and Nutrition Security project under Plan International in Northeastern Nigeria as well as others.

He continued to make significant impact with FAO Nigeria as Nutrition and Food Systems focal point working amongst a diverse team to integrate Nutrition into FAO portfolio of agri-food systems interventions across Nigeria. He supported the design and implementation of CERF funded Food Security and Nutrition project to
promote the adoption and utilization of millets based local Nutritious food recipe known as Tom-Brown
(Plus) to address acute malnutrition through food-to-food fortification in Nigeria.

Furthermore, to raise FAO country portfolio of Nutrition and Food systems program; he led the joint
inaugural seminar celebrating International Year of Millets 2023 in Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal
Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), ICRISAT and the Lake Chad Research Institute.

As a member of the UN Food Systems Task Team in Nigeria, he supports the National Food Systems
Transformation agenda by making technical recommendations into the food systems pathways
implementation strategy for the country and provide technical guidance and advice to the office of the
National Convener in Nigeria.

Victoria Sokolayame Emmanuel

Victoria Sokolayame Emmanuel is an aquaculture entrepreneur and the founder of Sokvikia Enterprises, a fish-based firm. She is a first-class graduate of Fisheries and Aquaculture from Kogi State University,Nigeria.

Her entrepreneurial drive led her to establish Sokvikia enterprises and got it registered as a business on the 24th of June, 2020. Sokvikia enterprises is aimed at promoting food security and human development through sustainable aquaculture practices. We offer training and consultation services.

5 youths have benefitted from our free internship programs and 16 entrepreneurs have been trained on business resilient skills by our organization.


She has been privileged to be trained by the best hands in entrepreneurship and life skills both home and abroad. She also holds a miniMBA from the International Finance Corporation and Access bank.
Her tenacity and business acumen has earned her a lot of recognition and awards.

Solomon Oluwaseun

Solomon Oluwaseun popularly known as Molebi of Africa is a sustainable integrated farmer, Chief Agronomist and Lead Consultant at Agriwealth integrated Farms situated in Mowe Ofada Ogun State.

With the vision of achieving zero hunger in Africa and ensure food security, He has leveraged on innovative and technological tools for sustainable fruits and vegetables cultivation like cucumber, tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, pineapple, pawpaw,

to mention but a few. He’s also as expert in livestock production like heliciculture, cuniculture, pisciculture, swine production also into biogas production and waste recycling ♻️ (clean and renewable energy)

He has successfully set-up and managed other farm settlements both in Nigeria and other African countries.

Through his mentorship scheme, he has trained over 20 private individuals, graduates from NGOs, federal universities like FUNAAB, FUOYE for their industrial training whose aim is to sharpen their skills in agribusiness.
He’s currently liaising with government owned secondary schools in the south west to revive and sustain the Young Farmers club, which is a means to catching young farmers and create interest in the agricultural sector in the minds of young Nigerians.

Having featured in radio and TV cum social media programs in the country, he is a man who has influenced decisions and proper solutions to many problems encountered in the agribusiness sector of the country. He is also a motivation and inspiration to the young generation who aspires to make waves in the agribusiness sector of the economy.

This exposure, knowledge and experience over the years has given him the access to supply food and vegetables consistently to major markets in the south-west region.

As a critical thinker and problem solver, Oluwaseun Solomon established a logistics arm of Agriwealth Integrated Farms. This aims at solving the problems of supply of food to these major markets in the south Western region of the country of which many other farmers have utilized thereby reducing the stress of post-harvest losses and to encourage rural to urban mobilisation of farm produce.

Jacquelyne Yawa

Jacquelyne Yawa is a distinguished business development expert with over 23 years of experience, specialising in driving growth across critical sectors such as Agribusiness, Banking, FinTech, Project Contracting in Oil and Gas Construction, and International Cocoa Diplomacy. Based in Abuja, Nigeria, she is renowned for her strategic vision and unparalleled technical expertise, consistently enhancing business performance and delivering exceptional value to stakeholders.

A passionate advocate for improving agribusiness in Nigeria, Jacquelyne has worked with 2,000 smallholder farmers to create a thriving ecosystem in the sorghum value chain, from farm to farmgate. Her efforts have been pivotal in unlocking opportunities within the agricultural sector, mainly through collaborations with multi-stakeholders to de-risk the agricultural value chain. She has implemented sustainable practices such as access to finance, certified seed, etc. These initiatives have improved the farmers’ livelihoods and contributed to the overall sustainability of the sector.

Jacquelyne’s career includes leadership roles at organisations like Alcon Nigeria Limited, Guinness Nigeria, and Zenith Bank PLC, where she consistently delivered impactful results. She also plays a crucial role as a conference speaker, sharing her insights on business development, strategic planning, and agribusiness opportunities in Nigeria, inspiring professionals and policymakers alike.

 

Professor Jonathan Aremu

Jonathan Adeyemi Aremu, is a Professor of International Economic Relations; and a former Acting Vice Chancellor of the Covenant University (CU), Ota, Nigeria between 2004 and 2005. He is also a Consultant, at ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) on Common Investment Market (ECIM), Abuja. Aremu started a successful career at Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) where he rose from Assistant Economist in 1980 to become the Acting Assistant Director of Research before voluntarily retiring in December 1992; and established Marketlink Consults Ltd in 1998.

 

At national level, Aremu was among the experts appointed by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2012 to develop a Trade Policy for implementation in Nigeria; in October, 2018 he was a Member of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on the Nigeria Impact and Readiness Assessment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and currently a Member of the National Action Committee (NAC) on AfCFTA. Aremu was appointed as the National Consultant of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) that developed the AfCFTA National Strategy for Nigeria. He was also a Coordinator in one of the main Technical Working Groups established by the Federal Government that developed the National Development Plan 2021-2050. He is also the Consultant that developed the adopted Nigeria Investment Policy in May 2023.

In ECOWAS Region, Aremu was appointed by European Union (EU) as the Monitoring Expert for the preparation of an ECOWAS Investment Guarantee /Reinsurance Mechanism (2012); and the Financial Expert that drafted ECOWAS Common Investment Code and Policy by European Union. He is the Lead Consultant on the Common Investment Market (ECIM), to coordinate the establishment of ECOWAS Payments and Settlement System (EPSS), West African Capital Market Integration (WACMI), ECOWAS Common Investment Code and Policy, among others till present. He was a Member of ECOWAS Tax Harmonization Committee; Expert that conducted the Study on ECOWAS Trade in Services Policy Review, assisted by UNCTAD (published 2020), and he is equally providing Technical Assistance to the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI) activities. Aremu is an expert appointed by GIZ and the ECOWAS Commission to provide capacity building to both the Commission and the Member States in the negotiation and implementation of AfCFTA Investment Protocol for ECOWAS region. He is also the Consultant that developed the Procedural and Manual of Operation of ECOWAS ECIM Council to implement AfCFTA Investment Protocol and the ECOWAS Investment Code and Policy. He is now being Seconded by EU, through Expertise France Groupe AFD, in the implementation of AfCFTA Protocol on Investment at ECOWAS region relying on the ECIM Council institutional arrangement.

At Continental and International levels, Aremu was the National Coordinator/Country Team Leader of UNIDO Investment Survey in Nigeria in 2009-2012; Member of the technical experts that developed the Pan African Investment Code (PAIC) that was used in the development of adopted Investment Protocol of AfCFTA; and currently a Member of the Technical Experts appointed African Union (AU) towards the Domestication of Sustainable Investment across AU Member States.

Professionally, Aremu is a life member of both the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) since 1990 as well as Nigerian Society of International Law (NSIL) since 1998; a member of Nigerian Institute of International Affairs since 1993; and the current Facilitator of Trade, Investment and Competitiveness Commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). Prof Aremu is also currently the Chairman of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) on AfCFTA Trade Group; and a Member of the Editorial Board of Canadian Institute for International Law Expertise (CIFILE), Toronto.

Eze Iheukwumere Nwakanma

Eze Iheukwumere Nwakanma is a seasoned banker with over 20 years of banking experience spanning Operations, Treasury, International Banking, SME Banking, Commercial Banking and Agribusiness and Export finance. He started his banking career with Liberty Bank and was Group Head Operations and IT for Oceanic Bank Gambia Ltd and had at various other times headed SME for Standard Chartered Bank and branch and regional management for other commercial banks.

He has held various management positions in various banks and in his last role with CNFA, A USAID funded project, he was the Deputy Chief of Party for the project, and he headed the Agricultural Value Chain Finance and Investment Services of The Nigerian Incentive Based Risk Sharing system for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL).

Eze Joined the DBN group in November 2021as the Head of Operation for Impact Credit Guarantee Ltd (A wholly owned subsidiary of DBN) from where he joined Arila Business Management as Chief of Staff to the GMD. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial Biochemistry, master’s degree in project management technology and another master’s degree in Diplomatic and Strategic Studies. He also holds a certificate in Agribusiness Management. He is a certified Prince2 practitioner and Certified Expert in SME Financing. He is an associate member of The Chartered Institute of Pension Management of Nigeria (ACIP), HCIB- honorary senior member chartered institute of bankers of Nigeria, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Risk Management of Nigeria

Eze is currently the Head of Agribusiness and Exports for Union Bank Plc.

Dr. Joe Matthew ITAH

Dr. Joe Matthew ITAH is currently the Director of Trade Information Department, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).

As the Head of Department, Dr. Itah provides overall leadership, superintending seven Divisions including Trade Facilitation, Research & Statistics, Export Training Institute, Publications, Exporters’ Registration, Trade Enquiries, and the Library.

 

Within this mandate, I have a duty to:

  • Ensure that the Council is up to date with export trends in international trade.
  • Oversee the sourcing, development and publication of trade information and export statistics required for the promotion and enhancement of the export business in Nigeria.
  • Ensure the review and assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely, effective and efficient resolution of trade enquiries and complaints.
  • Initiate and ensure the capacity building of newly registered exporters.
  • Ensure adequate dissemination of trade information to exporters and would-be exporters, among others

 

 

Before the present Headquarters assignment, Itah was the Regional Coordinator, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) South-South Regional Office, for four years, based in Port Harcourt but covering NEPC State Coordinating Offices of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, and Edo. His office was responsible for implementing government policies, programs, and activities that develop and promotes non-oil exports for the economic enhancement of the Nigeria.

 

Itah was the Head, Corporate Communications of the same organization for over 20 years. From this position, he authored the bi-yearly international magazine of NEPC tagged ExportNigeria, for fifteen years running. Itah is the Lead Editor of the publication “Walking Through the COVID Pandemic…A Chronicle of Export Promotion Activities in Nigeria”. In his time also, Export Newsletter was a regular menu for stakeholders.

His enviable work experience and achievements are predicated on sound relevant educational background and professional self-development. His First Degree in Communication Arts & English was obtained from the University of Uyo (1990), and a Master’s Degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2010), before a Doctor of Philosophy in International Trade (Trade and Development Finance) from the University of Port Harcourt (2022).

A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), since October 2017.  He was a Council Member of NIPR, and a past Abuja Chapter Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory, NIPR. Apart from a career in International Export Trade, Itah has been a consummate Public Relations Practitioner for over 30 years.

Taiwo is a Partner at PwC Nigeria. As the Agribusiness Leader of the firm, he has been at the forefront of championing Agribusiness service offerings for many years. He is a stickler for quality and excellence, as well as the Lead Ethics Officer at the Nigeria firm, and across the West Market Area of PwC Africa.

He is a regular speaker at Agribusiness seminars and conferences with in-depth understanding of the dynamics for a sustainable Agribusiness.

Kehinde Akinkunmi

‎Kehinde Akinkunmi is a resourceful strategy and marketing communication professional, with over seven years of experience across marketing functions such as Advertising, Data Analysis, Brand Management, Product Marketing, and Integrated Marketing Communication. Kehinde had developed strategies and run campaigns across several sectors, including Tech, FMCG, Telecommunications, NGO, and Government.

Folusho Olaniyan OON. FCIoD. FCIM

Folusho Olaniyan is an Agribusiness investment management consultant with 35 years experience in marketing and business development.

She currently serves as  an independent non Executive Director of ODU’A investment company Ltd, a leading investment conglomerate in Nigeria with investments in hospitality, real estate, agriculture, energy, financial services sectors. She chairs the investment committee, and is a member of the governance and nominations committee.

Folusho is the current Chairman, board of directors,Psaltry international,a leading agroprocessing company in Nigeria.Psaltry international is the first company in Africa to produce cassava based sorbitol. The company is a major supplier of food grade starch and high quality cassava flour to local and export markets within and outside Subsaharan Africa. Psaltry runs a successful out-growers scheme with no less than 4,000 farmers. Folusho is a member  of the technical committee of British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) foundation, focused on supporting agricultural development in local communities across the geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

Folusho is a member of the governing council of Ekiti state university Nigeria, the chairman of the public private partnerships committee, and a member of the university’s board of advancement and linkages.

Folusho began her career as a management trainee with a Nigerian conglomerate, A.G. Leventis Nig Plc in 1988 and  served in the food retail and wholesale divisions till she resigned as Head of Sales and Marketing Leventis foods in 2005. She joined UTC Nig plc in 2005, and was appointed Managing Director CEO in 2007; a role she distinguished herself  in till 2013 when she retired to become an agribusiness Consultant

As an agribusiness consultant, Folusho was engaged as consultant to  development organizations like MADE( Market for the development of the Niger Delta Nigeria ) funded by DAI UK;  Partnerships in the Niger Delta(PIND), Cassava Adding value for Africa(CAVA. 11)

Aderoju Adeola Odunsi

Aderoju Odunsi is an agribusiness specialist and has been an entrepreneur and trainer for over 35 years. She has particular interest in helping people especially women transform ideas into solid businesses. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration (B.B.A Hons) in Agribusiness with a minor in Accounting from Western Michigan University USA and Masters’ degree from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.

She is a MARSHAV trained professional having being awarded an Israeli Government Scholarship to study Agribusiness for Rural and Peri-Urban Development in Israel. She is a Master Trainer and business counselor for the International Labour Organization (ILO), certified trainer for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on Business Edge, and certified trainer for Insight Learning Foundation. She is also an ISO certified Lead Auditor for Quality Management Systems 9001:2015 (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems 22000:2008 (FSMS).

Her foray into the business world began during her NYSC program by making stylishly patterned Adire fabrics and clothes which she sold to fellow Youth Corpers. The success led to the establishment of her first company – Culture Club designs Ltd in 1985.

Aderoju is currently the CEO Sorello Food And Beverage Company Ltd; a food processing company with a vision to transform Nigeria’s agricultural produce into world class food products with a product portfolio of Nigeria’s 1st NAFDAC registered Zobo juice branded drink – Sorello; Tropical Brew Specialty teas, Spices,Superfoods and Snacks.
In addition, she is the Principal Consultant at Experiential Consult Ltd through which she trains, coaches and mentors on Personal Development, Business Management etc. locally and internationally.

She has won several awards in recognition of her industry by the Lagos State Government, NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW), Federal Government of Nigeria’s YouWIN program, Fate Foundation, and recently conferred with a fellowship of Changing Narratives Africa (CNA).

Muhammadu Damakka Abubakar is a former banker with over a decade experience in development and commercial banking. He is a successful Dairy Farmer. He is the president of the Commercial Dairy Ranchers Association of Nigeria (CODARAN), the umbrella body of the indigenous dairy farmers in the country.

He has chaired boards of various Federal institutions in the past years and pioneered the setting up of various government Agric projects. He has been a member of numerous Federal and State Government committees on repositioning Agric sector & financing same. A former chairman of Poultry association of Nigeria (Kano State Chapter).

A former Chairman governing board of Federal College of Education Zaria, former Chairman Management Board of Federal Medical Centre Lokoja, member steering committee of numerous developments partners engagements in Nigeria including the Kano State Agro Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) State Steering Committee. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) – Advancing Local Dairy Development in Nigeria (ALDDN) State Steering Committees for both Kano and Jigawa states.

The Livestock Productivity & Resilience Support Project (LPRES) National Steering Committee. He also serves as a member of the Administrative Board for the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG). Additionally, he holds key positions both as the process partner for ALDDN on the State Steering Committee and as a member of the ALDDN National Advisory Council. Part time lecturer at Lagos Business School on Agribusiness.

He currently sits on the Advisory Committee of the Lagos Business School – Family Business Initiative (LBS-FBI) as a member. He is currently the Managing Director/CEO of L&Z Integrated Farms Nig. Ltd and serves as the chairman of L&Z Dairy Fresh. He also holds an Executive Leadership position at the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) and serves as the Chairman of its Grant committee.

NWIABU, Legborsi Nuka Esq.

Mr. Legborsi Nwiabu is an International Trade and Investment Lawyer, Private Sector Specialist, Trade Policy Adviser & Analyst with considerable experience in WTO Law, Regional Integration, customs and trade facilitation, investment, Trade in Services, intellectual property rights, E-commerce & Digital Trade, Logistics and Transport Policy. He has extensive experience in reviewing domestic trade laws & regulations affecting trade & governance with an in-depth knowledge of multilateral disciplines and development economic issues.

Legborsi Nwiabu has the commitment to drive and support initiatives that can turn around organizational goals and human capacity in any given environment. His philosophy is to pursue personal and professional development with integrity without hindering the potentials of others. He is a certified UNCTAD Trade Facilitation Trainer with a Certificate in WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement & Regional Trade Rules & Regulations from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). He has featured on radio and television programs speaking on issues of trade and development policies. He has travelled widely across Africa and Europe making presentations.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB. Hons) degree from the Rivers state University, a Postgraduate Certificate in International Trade Law & Development from the Trade Policy Training in Africa (TRAPCA) Arusha Tanzania. He also obtained a Master of Laws, LLM degree in International Trade & Investment from the Universite Catholic de Lyon, France.  Legborsi Nwiabu, worked as Advisor Trade Policy and Business Environment on the EU funded Nigeria Competitiveness Project, GIZ Nigeria & ECOWAS. He was also the Head of Legal, Trade Policy & Advocacy, National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) where he resigned to establish the Nigeria Private Sector Alliance (NiPSA). He was the lead trade lawyer that represented Nigeria in the legal scrubbing of the AfCFTA draft text in Kigali, Rwanda, 2018. He is currently a PhD candidate – International Economic Law, University of Abuja, Nigeria.

Favour Agbo

Favour Agbo is an Agronomist and Seed System Administrator with over six years of experience in advancing sustainable agricultural practices. Currently working at the Nigeria Plant Variety Protection Office domicile at the National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC). As an Agricultural researcher,  She is focused on ensuring the integrity of plant variety trials and strengthening Nigeria’s seed industry through compliance with global standards.

Specializing in plant variety protection and seed system development, Favour collaborates with plant breeders and stakeholders to streamline evaluation processes and foster biodiversity conservation. As a member of the NPVPO team, she has contributed significantly to international projects such as the Nigeria – Netherlands collaborative Seed Program, Institutionalizing Monitoring of Crop Variety Adoption Using Genotyping Program (IMAGE) by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Gene Editing Project by The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT). Her involvement in national and international projects is a continuous efforts in establishing a robust seed system, ensuring food security, and promoting sustainable farming practices.

She is the Video Content Lead at BusinessDay Media and previous to this role she served as a television producer and presenter for five years, producing “Breakfast Central “, the first pan-African variety morning show that focuses on topical issues from across the African continent on News Central Television.

Elizabeth hosts live events and television shows focusing on trending stories, especially the ones that are set out to showcase Africa in a positive light.

 Her goal is always to exert far reaching effect in shaping culture. She has her background in insurance, having worked for years as a Direct Sales Manager in one of the world’s leading insurance companies where she received recognition for being a diamond performer.

In that world, Elizabeth is known for her dedication and proven results. Ms. Musa has a track record of working on high-impact projects with a focus on pushing the African narrative and influencing culture, recently working as an associate project manager for Hotel Expo Nigeria, West Africa’s biggest hospitality event. Over the years Elizabeth has cultivated a broad range of competencies that can seamlessly merge into various industries.

Wakeel OLAYIWOLA

Background: Trained at The Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Moore Plantation, Ibadan.
Worked at various times with the State Oyo Agricultural Development Program and The Shell Petroleum Development Company as an Agriculture Extensionist and later, in the External Relations Department as a Community Development Professional. I retired as ER Manager, West Asset, SPDC in September 2021. I have been involved in several Farmers Development and Extension programs in the oil and gas industry for more than two decades.
I have a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the university of Benin and an MBA in International Agribusiness and Food Chain Management from Lead City University, Ibadan. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Agribusiness Management of Nigeria. I am a practicing Agribusiness manager with interest in Catfish farming, broiler production and oil palm plantation. I am presently on a PhD program on International Development Management at the Leads City University, Ibadan.

Temi Bamgbose

Temiloluwa Bamgbose is an Agricultural Extension graduate who loves to tell multimedia stories. He is passionate about culture, travel, arts, tech and language. He has worked in many capacities in the media and communications space and edited a number of books, including ‘A Handbook On Climate Information For Farming Communities In The Savannah Region Of Nigeria’. He has also developed radio dramas targeted at teaching farming best practices to farmers.

Some of his works include, ‘Bèbèdi’, a documentary on the significance of waist beads, and ‘The Elephants of Nigeria’ a documentary about the population of forest elephants in Nigeria. He is currently with BusinessDay Media Limited as the publication’s Online Editor.

DR. IKECHI AGBUGBA

Dr. Ikechi Agbugba is a profound food & agro economist with wide experiences in agriculture, agribusiness,
economics of agriculture, project management, entrepreneurship development, food security, technology in
agriculture (such as blockchain, AI and IOTs), among other areas. He has intense experience in developing
project proposals which has been delivered in South African communities and has also been part of EU Horizon
Funding, NUFFIC, ARC and WRC among other opportunities aligning with the SDGs agenda of the United Nations.

 He has twice consulted for the United Nations under the International Organisation for Migration (IOM)
Connecting Diaspora for Development Project focused on train-the-trainers programme spearheaded by the
Hague Office in the Netherlands. He successfully delivered his assignments at the Food Crop Production
Technology Transfer Station; and a Horticulture Research Institute (NIHORT), both in Nigeria. During the UN
assignment, He developed a holistic strategy for horticulture ecosystem from production to consumption (hands
of the end-user) thereby promoting safety of horticulture and arable crops in agrochemical usage to tackle pest
incidence(s) as it complies with crop health regulations at the local, regional, national, and regional (EU) levels.


After defending his PhD (Agricultural Economics) in 2014 at UNN, he proceeded to the University of Fort Hare,
South Africa for his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship on a Smallholder Collaborative Study between Agricultural
Research Council (ARC) and Faculty of Science and Agriculture UFH, and later on with a NUFFIC Project of
which three South African Universities (Limpopo, Venda, and Fort Hare Universities) benefitted from. More so, he
has garnered experiences as external examiner with Development Studies Department, University of Fort Hare
and has been examining PhD students since 2018. More so, he has featured as external examiner for MSc
students of Agricultural Economics, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa and Pince Abubakar Audu
University (formerly Kogi State University), Nigeria. Since 2022, he has been receiving invitations to
evaluate/assess the research outputs of professors of Agricultural Economics as an National Research
Foundation (NRF) Scholar.
He has also garnered wide experiences and affiliations in the academia and research domains as Honorary
Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham, England; Lecturer at York St John University England;
Faculty Member at School of Pan African Thought, London; Adjunct Graduate Faculty at Tennessee State
